This tech note describes how to apply updated license keys for your installation of EMG and EMG Portal.
EMG server
The license data goes into file “license”. The full path of the license file depends on your installation, but two common locations are:
- /home/emg/etc/license
- /etc/emg/license
Edit the file to reflect the new license information. No restart is required.
The information must be entered exactly as received. Make sure there are no extra spaces or strange line endings in the file. Each keyword must be on its own line.
Run “emgd -v” after editing the file to make sure EMG can read the license information correctly.
Sample license data
The license data string “17/Jun/2016-17/Jun/2016-10-115-1” means that
- License expires on 17/Jun/2016 (“0” would mean perpetual, no license expiry)
- Support expires on 17/Jun/2016
- License is for 10 mps
